Other activities: Design for the Department of Fine Arts and Theatre Presentations, Committee work (Assessment, Curriculum, Faculty Senate, and Academic Council), Curriculum Development, 2011 Fine Arts Program Review, coordinating exhibition schedule for department gallery, and Summer Study Abroad Program in Montone, Italy.

I also instituted a number of programs such as Q&A Friday, an interview series featuring designers, illustrators, and studio artists, in which our students can talk with creative professionals from across the nation. This provides a much-needed context for what happens after graduation from our BFA program.

I also was part of a team of faculty and administration who created the Art On The Hill arts festival at Rogers State University. This event brought local artists onto campus to display and sell their work while faculty gave workshops and demonstrations in their given media. This serves as a great connection to the community, a way to involve students in community activism, and a recruitment tool in a time of decreased enrollments.

Travel

In the spring of 2016, my students in Public & Social Service Design placed in a design competition hosted in Hangzhou, China. I traveled there with one of the winners to accept awards and meet the hosts. It was a very rewarding and culturally enriching experience.

In 2009, 2012, and 2014 I taught a summer course on drawing, painting, photography and printmaking in Montone, Italy. Students draw from life, absorb the local culture, and study art history in Florence, Rome, Venice, Arezzo, Orvietto, and many more significant locations.

While living and studying in the Netherlands in 2001, I traveled extensively and independently throughout Europe including: Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Luxembourg, Greece, and Denmark.
